Hello, my family and I are going on the Freedom next year. It will be our very first cruise and we are extremely excited. We live a couple of hours from Myrtle Beach, SC and we have always vacationed down there. Then one day it struck me, for the money we spend there, we could save a little bit more and enjoy a cruise instead. So that's what we're doing.

I found a website for Mauritius www.mauritius.net and it looks so beautiful! I'm sure what ever your decision is, you'll have a great time!

I went to Mauritius in August of 2001. It was wonderful. We went for the scuba diving. The people are very friendly, service at the hotel was first class and the water was the bluest I have ever seen. Unforgetable!

You can always cruise (wrong thing to say on this board but what the heck) - I did a two-nighter on the Freedom in May so my vote is:

Go to Mauritius and be sure to include a visit to the Seychelles! Gorgeous! That whole area of the Indian Ocean is fantastic.

You have to do both! Like Chuck said, you can always cruise. The Freedom is an awesome ship, but it's a ship. If you haven't ever been on a cruise you owe it to yourself to go on one.
