Itinery: from galveston,tx to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozemel. 1 week prior to selling I checked my cruise itenerary for changes and all was a go with a tropical depression over Jamica expecting to worsen. Within 24 hours of sailing our captain informed us of a catagory 5 hurricane-Wilma with an unpredictable course. RCL continued to head us to the area with a change of canceling Jamaica and heading us to cozemel first. INSANE!!! WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RETURNED TO PORT IMMEDIATELY AND REIMBURSED!!! Our 1 day port @ cozemel weather was ok but Passion Island excursion should have been cancelled. Water was brown and dirty, undertows so bad no one got in the water. Shopping prices too high. Before leaving cozemel captain informed us Itenerey was now to Key West, FL. After leaving port Itenerary changed again to Tampa Bay, FL THERE IS NOTHING IN TAMPA BAY, NO BEACHS-NOTHING. AFTER 2 HRS EVERYONE WAS BACK ON SHIP-Everyone felt Tampa Bay was a waist, completely unsuitable for a port of call. People were shopping at Target to give a clue!
From cozemel to tampa took 1 short night & 1 day of sea sailing. from tampa back to home port galveston, tx took 2 full days of sailing and 3 nights and the distance was the same from cozemel to tampa. At one time we traveled so slow we all the the ship was near stopped. Everyone knew this was RCL's way to not have to compensate for a bad cruise that should have been cancelled to start with. This was our first cruise. We were so sick of the ship. I understand changing an itenery due to weather but it was insane to keep changing it towards the path of it. There were nice port all along the mexico coastline-Veracruz etc even South Padre. Also Carnival cruise ship-Conquest did the same we all ported together. If we do not get compensated we will never cruise this line again. I will be contacting them today Monday 24 oct. after getting back yesterday-sunday.
