We did the EOS in April of this year and it is the largest ship that we have been on but felt right at home. Agree with all that has been written - wonderful ship and crew, clean and not showing signs of wear. Shows were OK and the food was very good as was the dining room service and crew. Get a balcony if you can as it really makes it all worth it to experence the sunrise and sunsets from the privacy of your own space.

Explorer is a very nice ship. I have posted some photos and some articles that I did about her, including an interview with Captain Bill Wright, RCI's SVP of Marine Operations, on my website. http://www.beyondships.com/Explorer.html

One unique thing that Explorer has is the Ocean Lab. This is a working scrinetific lab that is doing serious research about the ocean and the weather. The scientists talk with the passengers and there are tours as well.

You can see the Statue of Liberty from the ship. In fact, you can see it from the ship at the terminal.

Yes the oceanographic lab as well as the atmospheric lab are available for tours, check the compass for times. You can sign up for them in the library

We will be on the Explorer on 10/7 out of Cape Liberty. I am really nervous about it because I have never cruised before and am not really fond of the water. My husband surprised me with it and therefore, I didn't have a choice to say no. LOL Hopefully I won't fall overboard because I can't swim! LOL
