Using cell phones

We used FRS radios on the ship and they worked great. We used cell phones on our cruise lat year and it was quite expensive.

I would take the cell phones AWAY from your teenagers and give them the little walkie talkie radios. (You can get a set for about $30 at any department store.) It takes a while to find a channel that no one else is on, and I would take extra batteries, but they work pretty well. Sometimes teenagers can be incredibly inconsiderate without even realizing it, and I would hate to cover a large, unexpected bill.
