Sonny is on a cruise right now, so don't expect a reply for another few days.

I have a possibly stupid question. Do you need passports for the basic FOS Western Carribbean trip?? We are flying from Philadelphia to Miami to board FOS.. Do we need the passports to step foot at the ports - Haiti, Cozmel?? (I'm a newbie obviously)

You won't require passports in September of next year, but the clock is ticking towards the day when they will be needed - and not just to enter other countries, but to re-enter the U.S. (and yes, I mean U.S. citizens will require a passport to return to the U.S.). Actually, if you had something happen on your cruise which required you to fly home from Cozumel you would need a passport next year. The rules are different depending on how you are leaving and returning. Cruise ships get another year. Airline passengers do not. You can read the new rules here.

My advice? You have plenty of time. Get passports now. You are going to need them eventually.

I totally agree with Dave on getting your passports now. We've had them from almost 10 years and they have make traveling a lot easier even though we didn't them most of the time.

Hi, your cabin is just at the start of the hump. You couldn't ask for a better location. You will love the view from your balcony and you're close to the elevators and stairway. What a way to spend you Birthday!

So are you all saying we don't need passports when we go in May 2007? Please clarify incase I have misunderstood. Thank you.

Spritfilled,

As long as you return to the U.S. on the ship, you will not require a passport in May 2007. But why not get one anyway? You have plenty of time.
