I am going to mostly agree with Deborah. I was on the Grandeur as well when it struck the pier in Costa Maya. It was breezy but no different than the other ports of call. That said, I don't believe there is any doubt that the accident was an error on the captains part and NOT an act of God.

Starting on Wednesday, we were left with many uncertainties regarding when we would actually return to New Orleans and then make it home to California(based on flight availabliity and when RC would get us home). We spent a significant amount of time in lines at the pursers desk and waiting for the phone and internet to communicate the potential with our family, transportation agencies, house and pet sitters. I too felt the crew was far less than friendly during this time. Had there been no obligations, I would have loved the extra days with a $250 credit but this wasn't an option for us and therefore, my family made the difficult decision to leave early on Friday. Four of us had employer obligations and two of our older children had tests in school that if missed, would jeopardize overall grades if missed.

Our 2 hour trip to Chetumal Airport was a joke. Our first stop was at a hotel so some could use the restroom where we watched some of the RC employees sent to escort us slam beers as fast as they can. Then when the airplane wasn't at the airport we turned around and went on an unscheduled (and unwelcomed)trip to a Mayan museum where upon the return to the bus, we were given stale ham sandwiches and a Dixie cup full of french fries.

We paid $6000 for a suite for our family of 6. We were offered the same $250 onboard credit as the guy with the $500 inside stateroom. This was the first cruise for our entire party of 6 and the first vacation in years. In our attempts do discuss our dissatisfaction with RC, we were flat out denied the chance to speak to someone at a higher level than a not so friendly Executive Assistant. Something that should never happen with a business that deals with the general public, especially in a situation like this.

I know this is long but I appreciate being able to share my frustration.
