Let's be real a cruise ship is a closed environment, you cannot smoke everywhere but you have to give us a real option.

As for the no smoking bars
here is my point of view:

Recently, here on the island, they banned the smokers out of the bars, they call that law the Puerto Rico free from smoke island.

    the Law:

You can smoke outside bars, but not inside any bar, any restaurant or public building.
As part of the law is the responsibility of the owner designate an area just for smokers. That area has to be on an open space outside the pub.

    What happen at the end?

Until the law started there where pubs everywhere but they were mostly closed and with no options to adapt to the new law.
Now the smokers only goes to the bars with open spaces, the only ones you can smoke, and the others bars that couldn't adapt are now out of business.
    Why?
Because the nonsmokers on the island, usually don't drink and don't go to casinos because they mostly don't approve gambling or drinking also...
So you see there is a fair compromise I don't smoke on the nonsmokers area, I will not go to your designated areas but
Please just let me smoke on my designated area and enjoy my cruise...

no one likes it when a no smoking law comes in (smokers I mean) but non smokers are in the majority so why should they only be able to go to one bar that is non smoking on a cruise ship, I could go on and on but I wont, I just feel that there is plenty room outside to enjoy a cigarette if they want, just like the bars in ireland if you want to smoke you go outside or to a smoking room,

I know you are a majority, that's not hte problem problem is you can not smoke everywhere you want I am the one that cannot smoke in any place unless is designated for.
What will happen if tomorrow the make a law against chocolate?? or Pie??
No one will eat it or thay will not let any one eat it at a cruise??
Just to be true evry cruiser has the right to enjoy his vacation and I can give you that I am looking for an option for me like they say the ship is big enought for smokers and nonsmokers

    My final comment too

Smokers should respect non smokers and smoke outside or in a designated smoking room within the bar

I'm not a smoker. Personally I would love to see more non smoking places. But I also under the need for smokers to be able to do so.

Since the original question was answered by Sonny (love the smoking smiley BTW) and this topic has gotten heated and turned into a politcal discussion in the past, I'm going to close this topic down before its goes any further into personal debates...
