I am a new cruiser. So is my husband. Surprised him with a cruise for his birthay and we leave in 2 weeks. We are both new to cruising and all of your comments have been so informative.
Can someone comment on the ship's casino? My husband and I enjoy table games and wanted to know if you had to wait awhile to find a spot at a table? Is the casino very crowded? is it large? Thanks

I can't speak for the Sovereign as I have never sailed her, but from the deck plan on the RCI website, I'd say the casino is large enough to have the normal assortment of table games. They normally have at least one $5 Black Jack game and that table can sometimes be hard to get a chair at, but for the most part the casino is not that crowded and its open most of the day on "sea days", so the crowd is spread out through the day. You should not have a problem.

Hi Chari and welcome to Cruise Chat.

The casino on Sovereign of the Seas doesn't seem too crowded at the tables. We're not big casino users, but I've never noticed people standing around, waiting for a seat to become available. If you go during a day at sea, the crowd is pretty well spread out on the ship. If you go in the evening around dinner time, changes are half the passengers are in the dining room if you go before or after your dinner time.

We just sailed on the SOV two weeks ago and the casino was not hard to get a seat at the tables, The craps table hardly had anyone playing it the whole time. You should be fine and if not there is plenty of other things to do till a spot opens up. Have a great time.

The Sovereign of the Seas is a beautiful ship. In fact, all of Royal Caribbean's ships are. You are going to enjoy your self. Yes, the casino is nice too. Not a lot of tables, but enough for you too play on. Lots of slots though. Enjoy and have fun.

Just got back today from 4 nights on Sovereign. Casino is very nice for ship's size/age. Quiet during early dinner time. They have every table you would want and sometimes people had it to themselves, but later on I would say from 11:00pm on it was hoppin'. Schooner bar adjacent really neat. If you have any other questions, just ask.
