I believe as long as it is empty going through screening, you should be fine. They allow liquids on the plane, just limit the amounts brought in from outside the screening area.
A friend of mine is an airline pilot. He tells me that the problem is the liquid, not the container, and that an empty bottle of any size is not a problem at the TSA checkpoint. Once past security you can fill the container.
Thank you to those who answered my water bottle delima question. I was just afraid that since it held 33 oz. (I probably won't be able to fill it that full from the water fountain.)it might be too big to take on the plane.
I wouldn't drink any water I got by filling my container on the airplane. There was a study done some time back that showed e. coli in many aircraft potable water tanks.
There are plenty of drinking fountains in the airport to fill your bottle. You can also purchase bottled water after going through security that you can carry onto the aircraft.
Well one way or another, I'm going to have to have some water.
I have read pro/cons about the drinking water from the fountain, bathroom on the planes, e-coli, so I just don't know . I know the water is expensive at the airport, so maybe I can get some from the airline person, as I need it for my medicine.
O.K., how about if I send you a couple of dollars for a bottle of water so we don't have to worry about you? It will be worth $2 for the peace of mind. Maybe someone else will kick in for another bottle or two. Anyone out there want to join me on this crusade?
