October Cruise...Navigator of the Seas

This is our first time cruising and we're very excited. Is October a good time to cruise? We are taking kids that are ages 18, 16, 16, 15, 10. Are we out of our minds or what. Navigator of the Seas sounds like a great ship. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

October is hurricane season, but rest assured that Royal Caribbean is not going to risk their ship (much less the passengers) if there is a storm brewing when you sail. The worse case scenario is that they may modify your itinerary. Believe me when I tell you that all of your children could stay on the Navigator of the Seas for the entire week without getting off in any ports and have a fabulous time. They are in for the time of their lives.

October '05 will be our 4th cruise in October. We have never experienced any problems whatsoever. The best advice I can give you is to not be watching too closely to the weather updates from any hurricane region. This will only bring anxiety all the way up till cruise time. After completing Oct. cruise #3, in Oct '04, we realized everytime we've sailed we were concerned about potential weather before going and only one time did we even see rain, much less a storm, and that was off in the distance as we were sailing out of San Juan. Oh by the way our Oct '05 cruise is on the Navigator...ENJOY.
