Feb 05 we signed up and began using our RCCL Visa. We now have 105,000 points, enough for a free 8 day cruise for two people. Has anyone utilized this process for getting a free cruise. Are there any down-falls or unexpected charges we may encur? Can I utilize the points for a family suite?

We are going on the Exployer of the Sea feb 06, already paid for. can we upgrade with points and get bigger/better room (we have suite with balcony now). Is it worth it to upgrade, we find we are rarely in our room anyway.

Anyone going on Exployer feb 06

WB

thx S&M

I have the visa card and love it because every 5000 pts (or dollars) you can get a $50 onboard credit or may apply it to something else like robes etc.
***The point are valid for 5 yrs. from the date you start earning them...so as long as you think you can earn the total for a free cruise in 5 yrs its awesome***
I'm going on a cruise in march and have applied a few hundred to my sea pass before I even get there!
I don't know about upgrades (travel agents don't really know how it works, so you'd probably have to check with bank)

Royal Visa

You have to pay Port charges. On my 4 night it is a mere $59 for two.

Just a note for anyone using the points. You get more out of the points if you apply them toward a cruise.

Example: 50,000 points is will get two people an outside stateroom. So you can pick the room and it can not exceed $500 per person.

versus $500 off a cruise.

So if you can keep the points adding up wait until you have enough for a Free 3-4 night cruise for TWO at 50,000 pts.

Or a FREE 5-7 night cruise for 125,000 for TWO.

***Remember everytime you use your card to pay for any RCCL cruise or gifts from RCCL you earn DOUBLE POINTS.***

So what are you waiting for get yours today.

And receive 2,500 points just for signing up.

Snorkel Mitch,

Thanks for the info. We actually use the card for our company purchases and have already acquired enough points for a cruise for both of us.

My new question is how do you get your cruise info at the bottom of your emails.
