Sandy, I look forward to hearing your comments. (And thanks for clarifying the one-night vs. two... I have a friend who may be in for a surprise.)
Dave, sorry that I started the posts that ruined your day... wasn't my intent. I have a feeling this ship will fill my entire window overlooking Boston Harbor. QM2 nearly did.
I'm just fooling around. I know better than to think I would really be the first person to sleep in my cabin. I have to assume the shipyard and RCCL will want more than one person to spend time in all the cabins prior to revenue service in order to ensure everything works and for more than one day.
It does take the luster off my hoped-for internet first review of the ship though. I'll no doubt be beat by dozens of first glimpse reviews from the "cruiserazzi".
Now I know why the fares are so high for the "inaugural" (Ha!) cruise. We are paying the freight for all the freeloaders in May!
Hehe...hey we have a hard job, kicking the tires and trying out all the food and amenities. You think I'm going on these cruises *willingly?* It's all part(y) of the job!

Dave, I will leave the review-writing to you, although I can't guarantee others on this board (and I'm not naming names! hehe) will do the same. I'm looking forward to some great mega reviews, including yours.
Dave,
Right now, I too am planning to be on one of the 2 night pre-sailing cruises for the industry. However, on a 2-nighter I doubt that I will have the opportunity to do a mega-review. So, I may be writing about my first impressions, but I am going to leave the Mega-review to you. Besides, I think it deserves at least a full week of cruising to be able to offer a well-balanced review of the total product and its official inaugural sailing seems like the perfect opportunity.
Nancy
Lisa,
Yes, they definetly fill the 1-night cruises. I have been on a 1-nt Fascination in 1999. 2nt Miracle in 2004, and just went on a 1-nt NCL Sun friday. They are very popular. You would not believe how crowded the casino was, and the bars looked like they were doing pretty good business. I too will be going on a 2nt Freedom in May.
I was kidding around a bit, given the ship's 3,600+ passenger capacity.
I love two-night cruises and we have been on a few. I have yet to do one on a brand new ship, though. Freelance travel writers aren't usually invited to these sorts of things.
