Is a certified copy okay, or do I need the orginal?

A certified or notarized copy of your birth certificate is acceptable. Be aware, however, that if your name if different than what's on your birth certificate, either through marriage or name change of any kind, the cruise line has the right to ask for proof of name change, such as a marriage license.
