RCCL official owns Liberty now!

RCCL took possesion of the Liberty of the Seas today. (or yesterday Finland time I guess.)

Getting close to that May 3rd maiden voyage time.

I have noticed that you are an avid Carnival cruiser and is trying RCI for the first time. I am curious to find out how you rate RCI in comparison to Carnival. Please make a post on your return to reality.

I think the inaugural voyage of Liberty of the Seas is later than May 3, maybe May 19.

It is May 19. The group I went with last year for the inaugural on the Freedom is going on the Liberty inaugural too.....except for us.

I thought you said that you did not enjoy the inaugural cruise on the Freedom that much. That you were actually dissapointed. Maybe they do a better job this time on the Liberty.

I heard May 3rd from the finance blurb.. Maybe that is when she is in new York for christening? I wasn't sure when the inugural cruise was...

Nica- I definetly plan on writing a CCL vs RCCL type of report. That subject comes up often here, so I feel the need to provide another viewpoint on it. Dave has done both also and has provided good insight.

We were somewhat let down by the Freedom inaugural, but loved the group we were with.

Sandy - my schedule didn't fit with the May 19 sailing which is why we are on the June 23rd cruise. It is only the sixth revenue cruise, so I am still happy.

They still have space on the 19th Liberty, I just looked it up. The pricing is a little less than half what it was for Freedom last year. Inside starting at $899. pp

How does that happen?

Dave, that'll give them some time to work out all the kinks! Just consider the first 5 cruises as the shakedown cruises.

What disappointed you about the Freedom's inaugural cruise?

Dare I tell you, I'll be on the Liberty for two nights, May 7-9...
