pick up docs?

I have been told by my TA that we will be picking up our docs at the pier. Is that what everyone else is doing these days? I've never used this TA before, so just checking! That's a new one for me! He says Royal Caribbean is all pick up now. I did the online boarding docs info already, so he says all we have to do is show up with our passports. You guys too?

if that's something new then it is VERY new because i have friends that went on explorer of seas the end of december and i helped them look over their docs when they received them a few weeks before they traveled. we leave for explorer of seas april 24th and i guess if we don't receive docs a few weeks before travel, then the 'picking up at the pier' thing must be new and true. : ) You could try calling royal caribbean directly just to confirm whether this is new or something specific to your region/travel agency. That would be your best bet, go straight to the source. Let me know what you find out.

I'm sailing 3/27 and my docs were snail mailed to me.

We are sailing on 4/3/04 and I received my docs a few weeks ago.

Ok, I'm back from my cruise now and my TA was right - everything went smoothly. Other passengers had their docs in hand, so apparently because my TA is a discount agency for airline employees - sort of "no frills", I guess it was a little different for us. Anyway, when they asked for our docs I told them my TA said they were pickup. Their response was "did you fill out the online pre-boarding documentation", and I had, so it was all good. Seemed like it happens all the time to them. It was like an "e-ticket"!
