I have found this to be true also. It all depends on the ship, itinerary and date of sailing. We have experienced price drops as well. We are sailing the Mariner in October and I have not seen a price drop, infact it's just the opposite. If we booked now for the same category stateroom we would be paying $1200. more.
Book now, if the price drops RC or a good TA will honor it.
