Just back from the Liberty

I was last year in Liberty of the sea. It was 8 of us in the group. I travel since I was little girland we always staid in the best hotels in the world, I have not 1 complaine about Liberty, service, food...?Just because of this experience my daughter is gadding married in Liberty next June and we alredy have 14 cabins book all balconies.Most of our gest are people like us why travel try the world many,many times. So I'm confident taht is going to be just fine. I hope you travel before and if you compeer with 5 stars hotels you probably will find no difference? To us RCC is like flooding resort!

We enjoyed the Liberty very much last year. The food and service were great - perhaps the best overall cruise experience we've had.

I am sorry to hear that your trip was bad but I think you should really give them another chance. I have never had a bad experience with RC. We did have some mistakes with our room service so they gave us a card apologizing for their error & a box of candy. The next time they made another mistake so there was a girl who told us just to deal with her & that was the end of our problems. Keep in mind we never got angry with the mistakes either since it wasn't a big deal.

On my last cruise there was a guy who complained about everything & hated RC. I oftened wondered how we were both on the same ship, doing the same things & yet everything was going so well for me & so bad for him. Oh I also don't think he had the best attitude so that might explain the differences.

I too can find things with RC that could be improved but I am sure that any where we go we can always find ways to make improvements.

As for me I will always travel with RC because I think the staff is wonderful!!!

I can understand the frustration. And I could see it deterring going back. We pay dearly for our cruises and its our one vacation of the year. So I would be angry if it was a disaster.

That being said on the topic of the suite perks. Why is there not a RC standard? We had a grand suite last time and really got no benefit above what we had when we were in an interior room. Why do some ships pamper their suite guests and some don't?

We got no help with excursions, had to beg for "A" free drink. There were no tickets for the ice show- it was first come first serve so no benefit there, no special seating or pool areas.

I guess I jsut wish you knew what to expect.

I think if you have a nice calm attitude with your 'complaints' and 'frustrations' you would be dealt with better, I find in my line of business when something goes wrong and a customer gets irrationally irate I immediately put a barrier up and there is automatic friction. whereas when someone else may have an issue and we calmly talk it through and sort it out, i find that person has more respect for me and vice versa.

I recall a great video I was shown in a "customer focus" seminar several years ago. It was a Fedex video where one of their customer service reps was trying to track down a lost package. The customer was ranting and raving non-stop. Finally the Fedex person said "sir, there are two people here concerned about finding your package but one of them is rapidly losing interest."

Well cruising is not for everyone. I have never had a problem with RCI and I have been on 5 cruises with them. I can't wait for my Grand Suite on LOS Nov 8th!!
