That would be fine. There are so many people who dont even wear a suit.

we dressed up when we had to, it added to the fun of our cruise but believe me there are people taht dont care and look like every nights casual night!

A sand colored suit would be fine on Royal Caribbean.You will see some tuxes and alot of dark suits and of course one nut will have his Stone Cold Steve Austin T shirt on.These ships are not overly dressy but people do look nice on formal nights.

It can also depend on the ship/itinerary.. a longer European itinerary is going to attract a "dressier crowd"... a shorty cruise to the Bahamas attracts a younger, more casual crowd. Longer cruises (over 7 days) generally mean an older, more formal crowd.

On the Explorer in September for a 7 day cruise, I would say it was 40% tux, 40% dark suit, and 20% everything else...

Although many people have elected not to adhere to the suggested dress code on formal night it is still doing a disservice to those of us who would like to maintain an abiance of formality to those specific nights. If you're sitting with a tux and your table partners are dresed for a backyard barbarque everyone feels unconfortable. Either it's a formal night or it isn't. How about respectoing everyone not just your own personal choices. Stop the formal nights or enforce the dress code. Either would be OK with me.

I agree 100% ,everyone who went on the cruise knew that there would be formal night's and should dress acordingly. If they do not choose to dress then they should go to the alternative dining area. I think dressing for dinner a couple nights out of the week make cruising something special.Thats my opinion.
