I just booked Liberty of the Seas for Nov 15-22 with my husband and 11 year old daughter. I hear this is a great ship for kids, but am concerned that the week before Thanksgiving isn't a popular time to vacation with kids since many are still in school. Any thoughts? My husband and I are looking forward to all the 'adult' entertainment (casino, nightclub, etc) and hope my daughter will make friends with other kids aboard in her age range. We don't want her to be 'stuck' in Adventure Ocean with the little ones. Also, does anyone know if there are 'parental controls' on the stateroom TVs? We don't mind leaving her alone for a few hours but don't want her to have access to inappropriate television programming. We're so excited for this trip!! Looking forward to hearing any feedback on the excursions in Costa Maya, Cozumel and Belize City!
Hello webfamcruz, welcome to Cruise-Chat! I've been on a lot of cruises and never saw a shortage of kids. I've taken my grand kids on cruise and they made friends the first day. In Adventure Ocean she will be with kids in the same age range. I don't think you could find an inappropriate TV program on a cruise ship even if you wanted to. The Liberty has nice flat screen TVs. I would suggest cave tubing while in Belize, and Chankanaab Park in Cozumel. We enjoy the area by the dock in Costa Maya...
Hi webfamcruz, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Congratulations on your up-coming cruise! SonnyV is our Royal Caribbean expert and also has great pictures. I think your daughter will have a wonderful time and I know there will be other children on board. Every cruise we've been on there seems to be children on board, at all times of the year. Granted, there are more during school breaks, but there are always children on board. With all the ammenities on board the ship, I think she'd have a ball if she were the only child there. Hope you have a wonderful time!
There will be kids. You are talking Caribbean, always always kids. Our last cruise was 12 day Eastern Med Rome to Venice on Princess in mid May and my 11 year old son found boys and girls his age with who to roam the ship and have fun. On all our Caribbean cruises with the kids, our kids always had a blast with other kids. Have no fear there. Our boys could hardly finish their dinner before dashing off to the evening activities. Cheers.
