Hi I'm looking into cruises leaving from very ports and am wondering if the port affects the people on it. I have two teens and was looking for good enviroment enviroment for them w lots of kids their age. I have heard that cruises leaving from Galveston, TX tend to have an older base of cruisers. Is this true and if it is would a cruise leaving from New Orleans be more of a "party cruise?" Thanks for your help and time!

My opinion for what it is worth after many cruises, is that people find people to hang out with no matter where they start from. Time of year i.e. spring break etc may have a younger passenger list but your teens will have a blast no matter where you start your cruise from. Port of departure I don't believe has any bearing on it.

I have cruised from Galveston and have found many young people cruise from there. When thinking about booking a cruise from Galveston try this site:galvestoncruises.com. Their site can give you all sorts of information about the ships and the town itself.
