We will be on the Adventure of the Seas in April and need to purchase concert tickets through Ticket Master on our day at sea. We plan on bringing our laptop and will pay for the access in our room if necessary.

I know there is a weekly rate of $100 for internet access in the rooms. Is there a daily rate so that we can just get it for the day the tickets go on sale?

How fast/slow is the access in the rooms? Can we rely on it to purchase concert tickets?

Thanks!

No, the $100 covers unlimited usage in your stateroom. Based on the regular per minute fee in the Internet cafe - it's a pretty good bargain. The connection speed in the cabins appears to be much better than in the cafe. Also, I was able to log on to AOL with in-cabin access, but had no luck on the public terminals.

If you have cruised on RCI in the past, and joined Crown and Anchor Society, they will provide you with discount coupon booklets in your room, one night of the cruise. There is a coupon in each booklet towards the use of the internet ($5) or $15?? I cannot remember but we used them both on our last cruise in the Internet Cafe. We accessed AOL to check e-mails and send a few. It was very slow but worked for the most part. One time, the e-mails did not go through, and we only found that out because I checked the "sent" files and they were not there. For some reason it seemed to disconnect us several times, and we had to login again. Might be worth it if this is the only reason you need it and don't want to pay the $100 room fee. Hope you have a great cruise and good luck with the Internet.

Forgot this....depending on where you are going, some ports have Internet cafe type places. We found one by a restaurant by the shopping area in Ochos Rios, Jamaica. You paid by 30 minute increments, or an hour, etc. and it was at a very reasonable rate. It was DSL and worked great!

Thanks for the responses! Unfortunately, the day the tickets go on sale is our day at sea, so we are limited to the facilities onboard.

The INternet Cafe will serve your purpose, but it is slower than you would want and also more expensive.

Hope that helps.
