what are the smoking policies on the ship?

You can pretty much smoke wherever you want on the ship, but there are certain areas that are considered nonsmoking. You can't smoke in your room, obviously, unless you have balcony (I'm not sure about their policies), and you can smoke in the bars, the casino, on the pool decks...the decks with shuffleboard on our boat had smoking and nonsmoking sides. I'm excited for our cruise this year, because my boyfriend and I will be official nonsmokers...we quit 5 months ago.

Does the pool deck and balcony have ashtrays around, or do you need to ask for them and kinda carry it with you? I don't smoke too often so not too big of a deal, just wondering... ~Kim

They should be pretty much all over the place. I remember them being all around the chairs by the pool area. We had to drag some over to us a few times, but other than that, we never had a problem finding an ash tray.

Hi All~~

We just got off of the Radiance two days ago. On that ship, the Schooner Bar had become completely non-smoking; the Colony Club still had a smoking area. The restaurants are all smoke free, as is the main show lounge. There is smoking in the sports bar and the casino and on one side of the promenade deck and one side of the swimming pool area.

Smoking was allowed in the stateroom. We asked the Stateroom Attendant for an ashtray.

Cigars were smoked in the Hollywood Odyssey from roughly 10PM on.

You could smoke in your room? That's odd...last year on Empress of the Seas, we read that wasn't allowed. Oh well. I'm so glad we don't have to worry about that this year.

So I was just talking about this with my boyfriend, and I have it all wrong. I guess we could have smoked in our room last year, but decided not to because we didn't want a stinky room. I don't even remember that. Whoopsie!

Remember, smk=oking is bad for our enviorment and you can burn your ship down, be careful!

Second hand smoke kills, all cruise ships should be non smoking. Why should we as non smokers have to die of lung cancer because someone wants to fill our air with more pollution.

I think smoking in your stateroom will be looked at differently after what just happened on the Princess. Even on the balconies. I can remember coming in from my balcony because the smoke from the balcony next to me was too much. Just happened to me down wind. When a smoker asks you if you mind if they smoke, Your answer should be not if you don't mind if I fart
