Hi! Has anyone gone on the itinerary of Port Canaveral, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, & St. Maartin? It is only in Puerto Rico from 3pm to 11, is it sort of a waste? I am debating between this and the same itinerary without Puerto Rico replaced by Coco Cay. I am traveling with my husband and 5 & 7 year old kids. Any advice?
San Juan is certainly a fun place but for those hours it is really not a kid-friendly stop. The kids (and perhaps you too) would enjoy Coco Cay much more.
Thanks for your response. I am also debating on the liberty or the mariner. The liberty goes to puerto rico, but the liberty is a new amazing ship. However, we have been on the Mariner and loved it and like the itinerary better. We'd love to try something new. Is the Liberty as nice as the Freedom? Just trying to narrow it down, thanks for any input! Is itinerary as important as ship?
Not much in Puerto Rico at that hour....and really not very child friendly either....but if you do go there, El Morro is a great place to go. Have a Great Cruise..
These are sister ships and essentially identical with just a few minor decor changes. The youngsters would love the H2O Zone on the Liberty.
You seem worried about the ports as though you feel obligated to leave the ship every time it stops. Why? Take the Liberty and simply stay aboard in San Juan - or perhaps go into town for a couple hours and get some souvenirs and then return to the ship for the evening.
One of my favorite places is El Morrow. It is kid friendly. Also the rain forest is also a great place to visit. But if I were you, I would just take a walk in Old San Juan if it an option. Great history there.
Well I can tell you there is a lot to do on Puerto Rico, for you and your kids...
There are a few:
* The kids museu " El Museo del Nino"
* EL Morro
* Isla verde: "On Isla Verde Avenue, you can go for a picnic, a swim or just for some sun at this beautiful public beach. Here you will find lifeguards and security facilities, as well as a picnic area, showers and bathrooms. A good spot for a family day by the sea, Balneario offers beautiful views"
What kind of activities will you like to do??
Looking for a day on the Beach??
Maybe el Yunque??
the Amphibius Bus tour of San Juan by land and sea??
boat sailing??
Since I am from the island,
I can give you a few tips
Please let me know if you need any help, more important
It would be on a monday from 3-10pm. It just seems that we miss a whole day. I've heard the rainforests are a must see but if we don't dock until 3, would we have time to see them?
