hi there first time cruiser going on the brilliance of the seas on the 1st dec 2006, we have already paid our gratuites just wondering do we still have to pay any tips whilst ordering drinks or any other item.
Yeah you can still give gratuities to the people giving you your drinks. Your gratuities basically going to your Head Waiter,Asst Waiter, Room Steward, and I think I am leaving one more person off....But we always tipped the waiters serving the alcohol and we use the same person, it pays off in the end because usually they will take good care of you...
You also need tip money for room service, and the people that take your luggage. Also, if you go on any excursions...cab fare...
I'm sure there will be others too- have plenty of extra dollars.
The people I tip are the Asst Waiter (formally busboy) Waiter, Head waiter, Room Steward, and Matre d'. If in doubt there is a recommended amount and to whom distributed on the cruise. As sonny stated the tip for bartenders and bar servers auto taken out of the each time you buy a drink. However, when you get the soda card there is no tip for the bar servers or bar tenders so don't forget to occasionally tip them for filling your mugs. RCCL and most of the other cruise lines will auto deduct your tips from you Sea Pass account if you want them to. But I am an old school cruiser and like to give it to the people at the end. That way I can give those who do a great job more and perhaps if their service is poor give them less. If I get a good bartender I will slip them cash. Don't put it on the reciept because they all share the tips from the sea pass.
hi there im still confused abit when i booked the holiday i paid for the gratuities, i understand that i should tip for room service, but what did i pay for when i booked my holiday. thanks look forward to hearing from you chris

You paid for the main 4 people-
head waiter (.75 per person per day),
main wait.($3.50 pp/day),
assist wait($2.00 pp/day),
and
room attend.(3.50 pp/day)
I hope this helps.
I know it can get very confusing.

Yes if you pre-paid your tips then all you have left to tip is The guy that takes you luggage and stuff (porter), AS Sonny said when you buy drinks they take out the tip for you, I usually tip the person who clears my table in the buffet lines because they really work hard and for sure if they do extra for me.
