From what I can tell, these two Voyager class ships are almost identical. However, it seems to me (and maybe it's just me) that the Mariner gets alot more press around here. Any reason for that?

Of course I think of this stuff after I book haha

Mariner will get more press and travel experience with this group because of the number of sailing it makes out of a US port. Adventure sails (to some really great ports) out of Puerto Rico--which often means a higher airfare. For cruise addicts keeping costs down increases the volume of cruises one can take!

that's a good point - thanks!

What's a decent airfare to SJU from NY?? Just paid for mine. For two people, round trip, it cost $535. That's after a $40 discount b/c I know people at JetBlue.

In the age of fuel surcharges, etc. that is a really good price! I can't get there out of MSP for that I am fairly certain.

Good to know! For me at least

Anyone else have Mariner vs Adventure comments?

I'd be interested to hear comparisons too. I just got back from the Mariner two weeks ago and it was beyond fabulous! We JUST booked the Adventure and sail next Easter, April 12, 2009 to the Southern Caribbean. I'm hoping I'll love it just as much, although I know the Adventure is an older ship.

Me Too! Check out the ticker--I am dying to know the condition of the Adventure. We priced the Liberty (again) and the Adventure for my daughter's spring break and Adventure, even with a more costly airfare ($490 apiece vs. about 325 to go to Miami) was still about $800 cheaper for the 4 of us. My kids did not feel that the flowrider (the only real difference for them) was worth $800. Anyone been on the Adventure lately? Windjammer/dining room are big deals for me--the usual? Better?

spoheat, I was on AOS in September and she was great. Clean, great service, great ports and very good food in the dining room. My only disappointment was the Cruise Director. Another poster here who went on the same sailing bragged about the CD so it shows everyone has their own personal preferences and tastes. Don't miss the ice show, its the best entertainment on a ship. Tickets are free but you have to get them onboard. Listen for the announcements. Have a great cruise!

Cheers, Neil

I was on the Adventure Dec 9th. I didn't notice anything wrong with her. I went on the Mariner in October 2007. I thought the entertainment on the Adventure was better than what I experienced on the Mariner.
