Promenade Cabins

The cruise specialist at RCCL that I booked my cruise with highly recommended the "promenade" staterooms. After reading some of the posts here I am concerned as to whether or not I made a mistake. We will be on Deck 6 - midship (which I thought was a good thing) so I am worried now about noise, lights, etc. Am I going to be disappointed with the cabin I have booked? There isn't an actual hallway that people walk on right outside your window, is there? Right now, I'm having second thoughts! Please help with comments.

don't worry. All promenade-view staterooms are at least one deck above the lowest level of the promenade (where people walk around), and they are very well insulated.

I have only ever stayed in a balcony room but the promenade rooms overlook the parade that goes by and you'll love that.

Sue, when Voyager of the Seas first came out, I stayed in a Promenade cabin during a special 2-day voyage. Sorry to say I did find it a bit noisy during the day. The good news is that I did not find it particularly noisy at night, and during the day we tended to be out of the room, anyway. I don't know on what ship you're traveling, or if the PR rooms have better noise insulation now than the Voyager did, but I have not heard other complaints recently about noise in those rooms.
