Hello, this is my first cruise and I would like to know if you can
board the ship before 2 pm? I am taking the Majesty of the Seas, June8th to the Bahamas. The booklet says it recommends you not to arrive to the pier no earlier than 2pm.

It is quite common to be allowed aboard well before 2pm, although you may not be allowed to go to your cabin until 2pm. I am used to being aboard around noon and already eating in the bufffet and having a drink.

A lot of it depends on how fast they empty the last passengers. Other factors like being late on the return, but this route doesn't experience it that much. I'll let you know how it goes for me. If my flight is on time, I should be at the dock around 11am for Majesty on May 11th.

Just took this cruise in April and we arrived at about 11:30 - waited in line for around half an hour to do final check-in and was on the ship by 12:00. We were allowed in our staterooms by 1:00. Make sure to do on-line check in. We had a great time!!

We sailed the Majesty in April, arrived at the port around 11:15 am and were in a long line already to board. We ended up boarding a bit after noon and our cabins were ready by about 1:30pm, luggage waiting.

I suggest getting on early- although you can't go to your rooms right away, there are plenty places open to eat and you can explore/enjoy the pools, etc.
Majesty OTS, 4/07
Mariner OTS, 4/08

Booked on:
Adventure OTS, 4/09

No, you have the wrong idea. It's the buffet that is open on the afternoon of embarkation, and there is never a charge at the buffet. All your meals are included in the cruise fare except the alternative restaurants, usually for dinner. But there is always a place to eat at no charge.
