Is it just like Princess, where the $100 future cruise credit will serve as a deposit for any length cruise, and the OB credit depends on category and length of cruise? Or is a larger deposit required when you actually book? Also, can you purchase future cruise credit for an UNdeteermined date? Can you purchase for both Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, when on one or the other? Thanks for answers to these multiple questions.

Yes, It works pretty much the same way. I think you have up to two years on the open booking date. You can book both Celebrity and RCI onboard.

I have a "next cruise" booking sitting out there with RCI. I thought it had to be used within so many years, but I just looked at it and wesnlin is correct - there is no expiration. Here is what my info says:

13. Offer valid only to residents of the United States and Canada. A NextCruise account shall have no expiration date.

Is there a minimum amount you must deposit? Also, can you still go through a travel agent or must you go with RCI? Thanks!

It is $100 per person when you make the "NextCruise" booking, which is what it is called. This money will be deducted from the deposit for the cruise you eventually choose. The booking can be used with either RCI directly or with an agent. My current one defaulted to my agent, who is listed on the booking. But you can change this if you wish.

Once you activate the booking by choosing a cruise, any additional deposit is due and then they will assign the shipboard credit you earned which is based on the cruise length. It can be anywhere from $50 to $200.
