We (family of 3) are going on this cruise in Jan '05 to Southern Car. We are staying in a Grand Suite which offers a higher level of service including concierge service. We didn't reserve cruise in time for a choice on dinner time and were placed in the early setting. Are the chances of being switched to the later setting pretty good? If so..who's the best person to check with? Also, any suggestions on ports would be apprec!! St.Maarten, St.Thomas, St. John, Barbados, St.Lucia. Thanks!

Welcome to cruise chat! As soon as you get on board, visit the Maitre'd. Normally there will be a table set outside the dining room to solve dining issues on the first day. Let him know your wishes (as well as the fact that you are staying in the Grand Suite). Unless there are extenuating circumstances, you should be accommodated. They may request you dine at your assigned time the first night, but after that they will be able to reseat you. You may also wish to mention your situation to the concierge.

As for the ports you will be visiting. I suggest you check our sister site, PortReviews.com, more specifically www.caribbeanportreviews.com and click on the link for each of the ports of interest. There is a great deal of information on each of these ports, as well as numerous readers reviews.

Nancy

Thank you so much Nancy! I feel more confident now about our dinner seating time. I will also check out the web-site you provided!

Usually passengers that are in the premium suites get preferences to seating choices in the dining room. That is what Princess claims when you read the description of their cabins on thier web site. If you can't get the dining options you want use the concierge service and dine in your suite. Take NancyN's advice. We have never had a problem getting changed but it depends on the amount of passengers sailing. A little green never hurts either
