We're cruising this line for the 1st time (our 2nd cruise, though; cruising in April, stopping in Key West, Cozumel and Belize City. Have you been on this ship? Reading great things about service, food, etc...got a great price on an outside stateroom, no balcony...but we'll live! Anything you can share with me to make our cruise on this ship more rewarding? Thanks!

The Rhapsody is a beautifully appointed ship. I have been on her twice since she came to Galveston. The food is good and you should not go hungry. The ports of call are alot of fun depending on what your likes and dislikes are. If you have any specific questions just ask.

Stan, thanks for the thumbs up! on the Rhapsody of the SEAS....we are thrilled about the ship choice we've made! I feel like I have a handle on how to spend port time in Key West and Cozumel, but am stumped for Belize. I've read all the choices...but....what what did you do while there? We often like to do our own thing, and not be part of a group....and I'm hearing that going on our own may not be "safe" or "the best use of time"....do you have an opinion on that...what did you do?

txtraveler,
I can't help you with Belize. The two times we were on the Rhapsody she went to the Cayman Islands. Maybe someone else on this board can help.

Hi! Here's an excerpt from one of the comments about a Rhapsody cruise stop at Belize (at cruisereviews) which i hope will be of some help ...

"When you arrive at the docks in Belize there is a tourist village with shopping and food. The idea is that you stay in the village and don't wander around. We went just outside the village gates and browsed through the street vendors, there are tours to the ruins, snorkeling, city, etc and cheaper than the cruise line. We chartered a young cabbie that took us on a 30 minute city tour for four people for $20.00 and had a lot of fun and saw a lot of sites. We returned to the village for cold beer and then back to the ship for lunch."

I'd seen that same post on cruisereviews - another good source for info. It was so nice of you to go out and get that for me, though! Thanks! txtraveler
