How much room is there under the bed to store luggage? Our softsided suitcases are about 10 inches deep and we're wondering if they will fit easily under the bed or not. We'll be on Freedom of the Seas. Thanks in advance for any information!

Hello. Welcome to cruise chat. Our carry on luggage is approx 10 inches, and we were able to fit them under the beds on the Freedom, and every other cruise ship bed that we have been on. Hello Listmaker Mel, welcome to Cruise-Chat! We put our carry-on luggage inside our regular luggage. 4 pieces of luggage should fit under the bed--we do it with hardside luggage.

Agreed- we normally get all of our luggage under the bed(s). And with my girls, we rarely travel with less than 5 or six suitcases of various sizes. Although that may change with the new luggage charges. Then we use the suitcases for dirty clothes storage as we go. That keeps the room tidy.

There is sometimes a Trundle bed under one of the beds....so you wouldn't be able to store luggage under that bed....but I'm sure you could have it removed if necessary....we travel with wheeled duffel bags and have no problem sliding them under the beds....and yes, you may have to change the number of bags you travel with....$15 to $25 or higher for extra bags..YIKES...

Hi everyone!! I think I've missed something about the extra charge for extra bags. We cruise in July (woo-hoo!) and I just got our paperwork. We got 3 tags per person, which is 12 all together. There's no way we'll use all of them, but am I correct in assuming that 3 is the limit before the extra charge?

No. The extra charges being referred to are the surcharges being charged by the airlines. The cruise line doesn't charge for baggage. Actually, if you had thirteen bags all you'd need to do is get another tag from the porters.
