We just purchased a 'western caribbean cruise on the Mariner for next year. We boked room 6312 balcony which is the first room to jut out on the side. What is this called? Also is the balcony all glass or is there metal onthe bottom again. (we were just on adventure and the bottom of the balcony was metal). It really didn't bother us. but was just wondering. Any tips on this ship?

KCLVT,
My hubby and I were on the Mariner last Sept and are due to go again this Aug. I believe it was all glass on the rail wall, however I could be wrong. We did not use our balcony much so we decided to try an inside cabin this time. we will be in room 6523. You will love the ship, we live in the south and are within driving distance of the ship so we have decided to make the Mariner an anual event.

Hi! my husband and I love cruising and we've been on almost all Voyager Class ships including the Mariner; u'll love it! as far as the cabin goes all the cabins on this curve are the best I always try to get one of them and once we did the bacony that was it i couldn't go in the inside cabin again, u get spoiled! the balconies are all glass and the ship is absolutely gorgeous! enjoy!

The only reason I asked about the balcony being metal or glass - we just came from Adventure of the Seas on deck 6 the balconies were metal on the bottom. We are again on deck 6 of Mariner and were told they are identical ships????

I was in Marnier in October 2005 and had a balcony room on deck 9. The rails are clear glass, with a wooden top. The side partitions are translucent plastic. Of course, the deck itself is metal.

I was on the Adventure in Sep 05 and had the opaque balcony bottom. Then I was on the Mariner at Christmas and the balcony was all clear! So I understand your confusion. They are not exactly the same. I will be on the Mariner again this Sep on the 3rd.

I was only joking - I am sure this will be far from your mind when you step foot on the ship.

No. It won't be the last thing on my mind -- I'll be wishing I had a balcony again! Can't afford it them time; I'm bringing my grandkids along. Can't complainn though -- i would sleep in a closet to be able to cruise more often!
