We are first time Cruiser's celebrating our 40th wedding anniversay and our 60th birthdays! We sail on Adventure of The Seas on 9/3 from San Juan. Can anyone give us any pointers about the food in the dining room and buffet? Also how expensive is the laundry service on board? Thanks for any info!

Dinners include appetizers, soups, salads, entrees and deserts. There are usually 3 of each catagory to choose from. We usually do the buffet for breakfast and lunch because we are up early to head out to snorkel and too much of a mess to go to the dining room for lunch. We've never used the laundry service because we buy too many clothes in port. Have a wonderful cruise, happy anniversary and birthday!!

Thanks Penny3333 for your comments about Adventure of the Seas. I'm not sure that we'll be buying clothes but we'll keep that in mind maybe not to pack quite as much) while packing-just in case. Thanks! I'm sure we'll have a great time!

My husband and I were on AOS last August, and we really liked most of the food. You'll have a number of choices at each meal in the dining room, and if you don't like something, you can always request something else. On Caribbean night, for example, I tried the chicken, but it was way too spicy for me, so they brought me a steak almost immediately.

I loved the fruit soups that they had. There was a different one every evening -- watermelon gazpacho, berry, banana, apple, peach and strawberry. Try them! They're great. I even had to buy the cookbook to get the recipes!! One thing that everyone else liked (but that I wouldn't sample) was the escargot. I know a lot of people like them, but not me!!

Our service was phenomenal. The waiter and his helper knew our names and our drink preferences by the 2nd evening, believe it or not.

Re: the buffet. . . .We found that they had the basic buffet offerings everyday, although they changed the pasta sauces and some of the veggies and stuff every day. Breakfast was usually the same daily, so we went to the dining room. We liked that better.

Have a great cruise!! You'll love the ship!!

Chris

Thanks Chris. It's great so many great people letting us in on their experience. It sure makes us more confident. I don't think I could even try the snail, not my thing-the steak would be much more preferable! Thanks Again. We'll be like old sailors by the time we cruise!
