Friends are contemplating booking #1256 on the Explorer, one gets sea sick, is this too far forward, being on the 10th level it is already pretty high up, which I've been told is not a good thing if you get sea sick. Although it is a GS which would make being ill a little more pleasant. Told them I would talk to the pro's as I have not yet stayed on this level nor that far forward.
Thanks, Leigh

Most of the time the seas are fairly calm. I've been on 10 night cruises when the waves never got over 3 foot. Being forward or aft, deck 6 or 10, I can't tell the difference. The little bit of movement experienced on the cruises I've been on never made me sick. If your friends take what ever remedy of motion sickness they prefer, they'll be ready just in case. Deck 10 is my favorite deck.
Why is this your favorite deck? We still have not made up our minds to switch. I have until 9:00 p.m. tonight. If we leave deck 6 (D1 cat)we will be distant from the others we are travelling with but the GS looks so inviting & spacious plus it is only 1 floor up to the lido deck where all the action is. I see on the pictures there are window by bed and living room area,do they have 2 sliding doors or just the one by the living area? We have 2 choices one being 1256 but it looks a little forward. Would this be a mistake? I need to make a decision quick...help...

Chef Ken-you caught me off guard and I laughed out loud. I didn't see it coming; maybe that brilliant Cabernet Sauvignon I'm sipping had something to do with my momentary blindness. You are a master of the understatement! Thank you.
No, I'm pretty sure its the wine and a good one at that. Red, crisp, some raspberry high notes, slight buzz in the back of the nose. Well I had to just pour myself some.
Ah, someone who appreciates a fine wine...not a Bud Light Man...I'll bet you drink a good brown ale, like Moose Drool (Big Sky Brewing Co), when you consume the hops and barley. My motto for 25 years has been "Hail me a Cab." My current cab has a subtle hint of dark chocolate. I'm planning on putting a few bottles in my carry on luggage and declaring them during the embarkation process, as special wines for the special events we're celebrating on our 4/1 Eastern Caribbean cruise. I've done it before; a couple times they just said okay, and one time, they took them, gave them to the purser, and he had them delivered to our dinner table each night. Uh oh, I didn't intend to open the alcohol dialogue, again...nevermind.
You nailed it! Ale is good for what ails you, and I am a big fan. I tried one this past weekend that was new to me, Boulevard Pale Ale, exeptional! Nut Brown, Pale, stout. I can go for a bock or a porter as well but anything that say's Budweiser, never touches my lips and light beers? Don't get me started... if you want a light beer, just add water. Am I right?
My guess is you might be one who likes cigars too, since you like the finer, "heartier" things in life.
Have to say I also had to laugh out loud. Not even Leonardo could get me that far forward. Anyway they decided to stay put on the 6th deck so I'm sure we will be doing the entertaining in our GS. Looking forward to that little extra elbow room. May even set up a dance floor on the balcony, hope we have fun neighbours.
