As Sonny says you will have the opportunity once onboard to have the gratuities put right on your onboard account. If you choose to do so, then you will receive coupons showing the gratuities were paid. You can put the coupons in an evelope to hand to the individuals so they know the gratuities were paid. You may add extra in the envelope.
I always give my room steward $20.00 the first day and then the usual tip at the end of the cruise...works wonders....and I travel with $2 bills to give out to those who do something extra for me...find me a deck chair, get a towel if I can't find one...or just because they had a nice smile....they work hard..take good care of them...Happy Cruising...
I was on Rhapsody last year. I paid about $65 for 7 nights, and I gave extra to the room steward, and a bottle of tequila for the waitor. It was his last cruise before going home for his off period. We never had anything less than excellent service. The room attendent would even tell us things to do (and things to avoid) in each port.
