HI
We are going on the Liberty. It is always nice to have a drink while getting ready for dinner. Is there a rule about purchasing liquor on the boat for your stateroom and, or is there a room service drink package? Also would you know about what the cost is. Thanks for your help, this site has been a great tool.
It's our experience that drinks in your stateroom are a no-no. That said some guests have been known to mistakenly carried a plastic bottle or tetra pack of wine aboard in there luggage. If you buy a bottle at the General Store aboard the ship they will deliver it the last night of the cruise. On our most recent cruise we had this policy explained to us. Seems that some people with drinks in their room may have a little to much to drink and the problems that can result when too much alcohol is consumed is what they are trying to control. It's the rest of us that have to pay for this.
RCCL does not have a liquor purchase program, as some other lines do. Mixed feeling on this, I will only say that some adults should be afforded the opportunity to have a bottle of liquor ordered and served to their cabin. But, unfortunately as Salty says, some other adults have ruined this for others, by overconsuming (?sp) in their stateroom. I make do with a bottle of wine, which is still ok with RCCL.

Sorry, you aren't allowed to purchase liquor aboard the ship and take it to your stateroom. They store it for you until the end of the cruise. You can order wine and dine while on board, and they will bring it to your dining room table. You can bring what you don't drink at the table back to your room. You can also call Gifts and Gear and order wine for your stateroom. You have to order from Gifts and Gear 10 days or more before your sail date. That number is 800-722-5443.
Thanks everyone
But I'm still confused. We have to order wine 10 days before we sail? I would not have any idea when we would wanted a glass of wine in our room, it's one of those things you can't foresee. Also I went on RCI room service webpage and fond no reference to "Specialty beverage". It seems like they outlaw liquor like it's a drug, all I want to do is be able to relax in my room, I feel like I'm being treated like a roughneck, we paid a great deal of money for the
trip. It's to bad a few have ruined for others.
Thanks
