Rome Excursions, Which One ?

We are trying to decide between the 2 most expensive Rome excursions offered by RCI on the Western Med. and Venice cruise on Brilliance. Has anyone been on either "Rome, the eternal city" or "Exclusive, Best of Rome". The former is $223 and the latter is $345 per person. The descriptions given by RCI don't really give you a good sense of why one is more than the other. They seem to visit the same places. If anyone has been on these, can you tell me what you saw and how it went? thanx

Hi I think that the more expensive one includes the colosseum and a tour of Rome itself where as the cheaper one gives you more time on your own to explore. Both of them appear to be the same length of time 10 1/2 hours. Both of them try to pack a huge amount into one day and you will be very tired at the end of it. I have been to Rome a few times so di the Rome on your own tour with RCI. My recommendation would be if this is the only time you go to Rome do the Colosseum as well, however if you feel that you may go back skip it this time - you will see it from the outside and manage to get the photos! Either way Rome is a beautiful city with so much to see and do. Enjoy it I am sure you will have a wonderful time

Thank you for your response. This will most likely be our only trip. It is really a big vacation for us and we want to do as much as possible, without getting taken advantage of related to excursions that are not worth the money.
