I saw this on RCI's website, and am not sure if it will apply to cruises after today. Nice that RCI is giving passengers a future cruise credit if they are unable to make the ship.
I hope everyone had cruise insurance. The way I read it, if you didn't book the package through RCI, you're out of luck unless you had insurance.
It states if you booked air through RCI, you would receive credit and 100% future cruise booking. If you booked air on your own, contact the airlines and the standard cruise refund policy applies, which would mean, you'd lose 100% of your fare.
I hope I misunderstood what they posted or everyone had trip insurance. I am glad they are helping everyone who booked through them, though.

Well I went back and re-read that, and unfortunately I misunderstood. This goes back to what Penny stated, in that the cruise and the airfare, if booked independently, are lost if you are not able to go.

Oh, dang it, I was hoping I was wrong Anyway, I'm sure a lot of people bought insurance. I know I sure would have on a cruise of that value. I usually purchase insurance for every cruise, though. I'd hate to lose all that money without being in a casino
