Maybe Sonny or Dave or someone who has recently cruised can answer this.
I did enjoy a cocktail or two before and or after dinner last year on our first cruise on the Explorer.
We're due to repeat the experience next summer but I recently read a review somewhere wherein the writer said that alcohol prices on RCI had recently in some cases doubled.
I really didn't notice a large difference when I last cruised in May of this year over last year's prices. Stay away from top shelf "call brand" liquors as they are more expensive. You have to face two facts... 1)Liquor and cruising mix nicely (unless you try using the guardrail as a balance beam... most notably on Carnival) 2) You are on vacation
Every day in your Cruise Compass RCCL has a special drink of the day. Are you a member of the crown and anchor society? Even with one cruise on RCCL you are eligible to join. With the membership you get coupons to use for various things as well as an invitation to a free private cocktail party. Other than that, if you are diligent in your search, you can book some cruises that offer onboard credit that you can use to help offset the high price of alcohol. Happy cruising...

I think the writer of that review had too much to drink. The prices on the Liberty last month were pretty much identical to what they were last summer on the Freedom. Some things may have gone up a little bit - maybe 25 cents here and there - but certainly not doubled in price. Unless you order a double...
Darn it Dave. I fell victim to one of your pet peeves. I realized that I used the phrase "free cocktail party" in my previous post but it was too late to edit it out the word "free". Oh well, life goes on.
Thank you Drlivingston and Dave. I'd only read once where the prices had gone way up and it wasn't on this site and that's why I brought it to the experts (on cruising mind you, on cruising).
