hello! for my first cruise, i have questions about dining and lunch: are they like some kind of buffet, where you can get whatever u want on a table, or rather are they real dinner, with meals served by waiters?
They are both. If you go to the main dining room for lunch or dinner, then you are seated at a table and served by the waiters. If you decide to go to the Windjammer then it is a buffet/cafeteria arrangement.
thanks Dave! Ever since i've found this site, i 've learned quite a lot about cruising! How is the food like on ships? HoW is the Majesty of the seas like?
The lunch served in the main dining room is a full course meal....and sometimes is better than the supper:-)....The buffet is a good choice too....you can pick and choose and make up your own menu....Just enjoy the ship...Happy sailing...
Same goes for breakfast. You can sit down in the dining room and be served, or you can go to the Windjammer for a buffet style breakfast. In the dining room you order off a menu for any of the three meals. The evening meal is assigned seating; you'll be at the same table every night. Room service is available also. I'm sure you will find the food better than most restaurants you've eaten at. Think about it is making me hungry.
Hello,
I have been on one cruise on the Navigator. I loved dining in the dining room. Your waiters learn what you like and treat you like king and queen. If you don't like what is served they offer you an alternative. If you like extra butter they give it to you before you ask. Dine where you like, but check out the dining room first.
Norma
If you want a sit down dinner then they do it in one of the two main dining rooms, but you can also go to the Windjammer for a less formal buffet type dinner, or any one of the specialty restaurants. If you like burgers or shakes, try to check out Johnny Rockets on the Majesty. It's a $3.95 cover charge and all the food you want, drinks are extra, but you still can't really beat $3.95 for a burger and fries and dessert.

The Majesty is one of the smaller ships, and it has a capacity of about 2700 I think. It was pretty crowded on the sailing that I went on back in October of 20007, but not at full capacity. When I went I think it was closer to 2300 people, so expect a good amount of people on the ship. Majesty of the Seas Specifications. Check out the link for the official specifications.
