I will be going on a back to back cruise in Sept. 2007. Does anyone know the procedure that I will have to take between the first and second cruise? I would prefer to stay on board. We are staying in the same room on both cruises. If we do have to get off, do we have to take all our belongings off, then turn around and bring them back?

That will depend on the cruise line. Ask your TA (or the cruise line, if you booked direct) what RCCL's procedures are for your particular cruises. I've known others who did not have to disembark as they were staying in the same cabin, but that was on a different cruise line, and was several years ago. They also did not know until partway through their first cruise if they were staying in the same cabin or would have to change.

If you do have to disembark you will likely have to pack up and take everything with you.

Thanks Karen. I booked by phone with RCCL. The phone clerk was not sure but, he thought I would have to go through customs. He did not know about my bags. I will be in the same cabin. Hope I can leave the bags in the room. If not, I guess I can put on new tags and pay a porter to move them from one door to another.

Tatedpd, you will have to get off and get back on the ship, but you won't have to take any of your luggage. Only your paper work and passport. This is a very quick procedure. It's done before any other passengers board the ship.
