08/09 Members cruise is now a regular cruise

I just found out that the 8/30/09 members cruise has just been changed to a regular cruise.

Has anyone heard from the Loyality desk yet about this cruise. Are they offering on-board credit or any other perk for the change.

I might cancel my booking.

This was emailed to me from a friend who wrote to C&A.

Yes, the Mariner 8-30-09 sailing will no longer be a member cruise in order for us to focus on events planned for Mariner's historic around-the-horn journey taking place in January/February 2009.

All Crown & Anchor members booked on the 8-30-09 cruise will be called and notified personally by the Loyalty Desk. You may have already been called by now. We apologize for the inconvenience but trust that the hundreds of Crown & Anchor members booked on the Mariner repositioning sailing will enjoy all of the special surprises we have in store for that historic event.

Thanks for posting the info. Sorry to have edited the email, but we don't want this person to be inundated with calls.

I have to say that the email seems a bit strange. So, they removed some perks from your cruise so that pax on another cruise thousands of miles away at a different time of year will have "special surprises?" I'd be bummed, too.
