Thank you, Sonny.
That sounds like a much easier way to do it; it's just not the way I'm use to. I've even had to open checked luggage occasionally. And you wouldn't believe what I had to go through when I was a musician and trying to get my instruments through.

On carnival Cruises in Miami and Tampa if you carry your luggage off, you leave very much earlier than those who do not. I have been in my car half back to home by 9:00 am by carrying my luggage. It a literal run off the ship. Is this the case on rccl as well???

That's basically what I need to know most too? Is one way MUCH faster than another? My friend is a teacher and since they are now thinking of taking away our spring break (since we've had so many snow and ice days this year). She was going to take Monday off and just mosey home, but since school will be in session the whole week we are gone, they want to get right on the road when we get into port Sunday morning and get home for school on Monday.

I don't know about RCCL-this is my first... but my last cruise- Carnival- we had the option of carrying off- we didn't have a ton so we opted to carry off our luggage. We walked through an area directly off the ship - a lady barely glanced at our paperwork...waved everyone through and all the way down the hall to the curb ---the staff (of the terminal I think) kept literally saying - hurry ..keep moving---I set my bags down to adjust the weight and I was scolded to move- They did not look in, scan, or anything- actually I found my declaration paper in my purse the next day- no one ever asked for it...I didn't have anything to declare but still - it was a little scary how easy it was to enter the country.

I agree, on Carnival the last two cruises have RAN us off the ship. The last one we had my then 13 year old daughter and friend, and they were running to keep up with the crowd. I personally love it. The few hours on the ship are bad, running off and getting in my car to drive home is MUCH better. Does anyone know if its like this on rccl?
