I am giving my husband a cruise for Christmas and our 24th anniversary. Family members want to buy gift certificates through RCL to be applied to our on board credit. My question is: If we do not spend all of the money applied towards our sign card, do we get a refund? Not sure how it works, usually we just put up a credit card. But if we can get enough gift certificate credits and not have to charge anything...that would be great!

If you have on board credit, it's like have cash. If you want, you can go to the casino and get all of your on board credit given to you in cash. If you have credit left at the end of your cruise, it will be credited to you credit card.

just read rccl rules for gift certificates. the gift certificate must be redeemed at least 10 busines days before the cruise even if you are going to use it for on board credit. the rules are under the gifts section on the home page then go to terms and conditions. i don't like their conditions. they seem pretty picking.

happy thanks giving,

Once you receive your certificates, go on-line to redeem them. You will need your reservation number, the serial # and authorization code from the certificates. The amount will be applied as credit for onboard use.
You MUST redeem 10 business days prior to sailing, as ezemoney has mentioned.
Certificates may be redeemed online or by calling 800-722-5970. You can not redeem onboard.
