Wi-Fi Charges / Dress Code

Thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and ask two questions in one thread - could be seen as a general question but to be specific, it relates to a forthcoming cruise on the Oasis Of The Seas.

1. Wifi - as I understand, wifi will be available but at a cost. Does anyone know roughly what the tariff on a hour / day / week rate? Also, does it work on the basis that you simply type in a password when prompted to connect to wifi?

2. Dress Code - generally speaking, is it acceptable to wear tshirt / shorts for the most part of the day? I assume a smarter dress code will be required when dining (dinner in particular) and image trousers will be worn as a minimum.

Shorts and t-shirt is fine during the day. For evenings in the dining room, look HERE.

Internet has a basic fee of 75 cents per minute but they have package deals for various numbers of minutes which reduces the per-minute cost. For example I think it is $55 for a 100 minute package. You establish an onboard internet account which will have a user ID and password. Shipboard internet isn't blazing fast and can be offline at times since they rely on a satellite connection. The minutes go by fast. Just don't forget to log out. It is good to remember that if the logout screen can't be found to just type 1.1.1.1 in the browser and that will log you out.

Also note connection speeds are not the fastest on the ships. Do not expect real high speed.

If the Oasis Internet Cafe is anything like my previous 2 cruises on RCI, then your SeaPass Card acts as your logon. From what I remember, you swipe your SeaPass card in a slot on the keyboard. It will prompt you for your stateroom number. Once you type in your stateroom number, it should log you on once it connects, which may be a few minutes.

I think the charges are something like $0.55 per minute. Again, don't expect the high speed internet you may have at home or at work.
