Has anyone cruised on the Grandeur of the Seas?

I am planning on taking a large group of people on a caribbean cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas. Has anyone been on her? What is she like? How is the food? What are the rooms like?

My son and his wife, about 21 years of age, went on the Grandeur for their honeymoon and loved it! They came back raving about it all--the food was delicious, they loved their servers, their cabin was kept clean/organized, (and they loved the different towel-animals waiting every night in their room!) They saved money by getting an inside cabin room, but they were perfectly happy with it. (Of course, they WERE on their honeymoon!) (Smile) Hope this helps you! ~Lovebug

We just returned from a 2 week Cruise on Feb 1/03 - Good time was had by all - room was not clean when we arrived but they vacuumed it and a few days later steam cleaned it for us.. Good food in Dining Lounge and also in the WindJammer cafe. tried the pizza once and it was OK - waiters and room steward were all very good -- they really earn their money. Entertainment was first rate in the theater every evening. Also the Pacifica lounge featured Oddasea almost every night and they were great -- they can play anything. The Denise Canby Trio in the Atrium every evening was also excellent -- what a great presence and voice.. Easy on the eyes too.. lots to do on the ship as well -- the ships "Compass" lists things to do from 6:00AM until after midnight so you can be as busy as you want or as lazy as you choose..

We were on the Grandeur in December of 02 and had a great time. We had a balcony room with a refrigerator and the room was really a good size. We are looking to taking her again next December.

We took the Grandeur on our first cruise. She is an older ship and she does show her age, gracefully. The food was good but not as good as other RCCL or Celebrity cruises. Like othe RCCL and Celebrity ships, her standards are high and nothing like the bargain basement ships in the Carnival stable.
She is also a smalled ship but that is nice. Clean and a ship with some character.
