Roll Call SOS 8/15/05 - & a few questions

Hi...My fiance and I (26 & 23)will be taking our honeymoon on the sovereign of the seas 8/15/05 and would love to hear who else is going. It is our first cruise for both of us and would also love any advice from any seasoned cruisers about anything and everything.

Also I had a quick question about bringing alcohol aboard. I was wondering what people thought was the best way. Someone mentioned putting it in a mouth wash bottle....but was wondering just how hard the cruise line is on checking bags and such.

I was also wondering how expensive the massages are..and if there was anywhere I could get a price list.

We are going on SOS June 6th. Went on last October, 2004 as well. Ship just under went a major renovation last winter 2004-2005. Should be in fine shape for your honeymoon. They have added a Johnny Rockets, a Ben and Jerries Ice Cream Parlor, and a Seattle's Best Coffee House. She is one of RC's oldest ships, but should look good now. As far as bringing liquor on, i 'm not sure. I am a beer drinker, and beer is relatively cheap, but I did not notice anyone checking back packs, bags,etc... when boarding or getiing back on in ports, so I think it would be fairly easy to do it. Not sure about massages. Never did one. too much else going on.

If memory serves, massages might be about $2 per minute (25 min. minimum). Be sure to book them early after you board, especially if you want one on a sea day, as they are very popular. (You book them at the spa.)

Hi Inez,

every day they offer a special massage for a cheaper price. Look in the cruise today, which you get in your stateroom every evening.
There you can find the special offers and the next morning you can go to the spa and make your reservation. Sometimes it`s about 20 to 25 % cheaper than normal.
Bringing alcohol on the ship is different every time. The last time we had a bottle of champagne for my 50th anniversary and did not have a problem. We had the bottle in our handluggage and nobody said something.
But when you buy something during your shore excursion, they ask you to give it to them and you get it back the last day.
