Alaska

We are cruising to Alaska in late June. Any pros or cons for where or who you whale watch with? Some whale watch boats stop at Mendenhall, is there enough time there. Does anyone have an experiences with any of the salmon bakes?

How much time does one need to see a glacier? The Whale watching excursions offered by the ships are good. They usually guarantee they will find whales. I've been on two of them. The first one we saw lots of Orca whales. The second one we saw Humpbacks.

Dave, my wife and I did an Alaskan cruise in 2007. I do not recommend the salmon bake. It was not good at all. We did sort of a 3 in one excursion. Saw humpback whales and seals, did the mendenhall glacier and it was awesome. Wish we would have skipped the salmon bake and spent more time at the glacier. RickyB
