So here I sit 37 days away from our Allure cruise, getting almost daily e-mails from RCI urging me to go on-line and make my dining and other reservations, and when I try to do so none of the specialty dining is available and the water shows also will not accept any reservations.
If it were 90 days out, or even 60, I'd understand but not when it is a little over a month away. I've been trying for 3 days now and was only able to book a couple shows and some My Time Dining.
I just fired a note off to the Crown & Anchor society about it. News at 11...
Is it just the website? I sure hope that everything is not booked up. I know you've got to be getting excited. Did you get a loft suite? Those cabins are beautiful!
This is maddening. I could book some things such as "Chicago - The Musical" and MTD using Firefox on the Mac but when I tried to book specialty dinners and the water shows it would not let me. This even though it is all in the same area of their website. But wait, there's more!
I decided to try with my iPad using Safari, and was able to book everything else with no problems. How could their reservations system be that fractured?
Oh well, I got everything I wanted. Now to wait for the e-mail from RCI telling me they cannot find a problem and to call them.
Owing to a bad surprise (income taxes I owed!) I had to move down to a Grand Suite from the Loft Suite. We still get the suite perks, so other than being a smaller, standard issue suite, it will still be a great cruise.
I am normally not one to book a lot of the extra-fee dining but since it is our silver anniversary cruise I went all out. Dinner at Chops and Samba Grill. Lunch at Giovanni's Table and Rita's Cantina. I may add another but not sure yet. MTD on four nights.
I'm toying with either 150 Central Park or the Chef's Table...these would obviously be for just Vanessa and me, especially Chef's Table since it has a 21 age limit, but I doubt Jacob would be interested in the tasting menu at 150.
It may be that Jacob is less interested in hanging with the 'rents on this cruise, now that he's older and with all the venues on the Allure that attract teens...
