I was surfing around the RCI website today and found a cruise that I liked more than our previously scheduled Alaskan run. So, we are not going to Alaska next July. Instead we are going to Bermuda, Boston, and Newport Rhode Island. 8-night cruise on the Enchantment Of The Seas out of Baltimore. That is three great stops and also three sea days. Plus we get 16 cruise points for booking a suite.
We've never been to Bermuda and I want to punch that ticket. Boston surprised me in 2009. You think 'old city' and all of the infrastructure problems but it isn't so. Very easy to get around. Plus, we want to see all those grand mansions in Newport.
When I book Alaska again I intend to spend at least two weeks there, land and sea.
You'll enjoy Bermuda it's beautiful. I've been to Alaska three times and haven't done Denali yet. With the cost of airfare anymore it would be wise to take the extra time.

That's a great Itinerary. It's funny that Bermuda and Newport are linked on one cruise. Two classic sailing cities. In fact there are a lot of sail boats that do that circuit every summer. You'll love both ports, a far cry from the poverty you see in the caribbean!
We're looking at an Alaska cruise in July, but it's round trip from Vancouver, and I really want to go back and spend some time in Anchorage. I was stunned by what a beautiful city it was!
Dave.....In Newport be sure to visit the Vanderbilt Mansion "The Breakers"and stroll along the Cliff Walk (right behind the mansion). In Bermuda.....a stop at the "Swizzle Inn" home of the original Rum Swizzle is in order!!! I'll be 4 months behind you to Bermuda!!
